Hyderabad, April 19: The firing on Indian ships in the Strait of Hormuz has triggered strong concern, prompting India to issue a warning to the Iranian envoy.
According to officials, two Indian flagged vessels came under small arms fire while passing through the route. The incident damaged bridge windows. However, no crew members were injured and no major technical loss was reported.
Sources said gunboats linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps approached the ships and opened fire. Therefore, the firing on Indian ships has raised security concerns over maritime safety.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of External Affairs reacted swiftly to the firing on Indian ships. Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Fatali was summoned for clarification.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri raised concerns about the safety of Indian crew and trade routes. He urged Iran to ensure secure passage for vessels in the region.
Officials also recalled past cooperation with Iran. However, they expressed dissatisfaction over the latest incident.
An audio clip from a crew member has surfaced amid the tensions. It reflects the fear and confusion during the firing. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
