Hyderabad, April 24 (Maxim News): In a major breakthrough, the Special Crime Team of CCS Hyderabad City, along with Gandhinagar Police, arrested four persons involved in a series of two wheeler thefts across the city.
Police said the accused were traced after officers monitored their social media activity, including Instagram posts, during a focused surveillance operation.
The arrests were made on April 23 at M.M. Pahadi, Attapur, following credible intelligence inputs.
Those apprehended were identified as Mohammed Riyaz (18), Syed Ahmed Ali (18), Mohammed Fardeen (18) and one conflict with law minor.
Hyderabad Bike Theft Gang Busted
Police recovered 10 stolen two wheelers from the accused during the operation.

The seized vehicles include:
- Honda Dio scooters: 8
- Hero Glamour motorcycle: 1
- Bajaj Pulsar NS 200: 1
Investigators said the accused confessed to their involvement in multiple automobile thefts.
The gang allegedly targeted parked two wheelers in different parts of Hyderabad and surrounding areas.
According to police, the stolen vehicles were linked to cases registered under Balanagar, Gandhinagar, Kollur and Attapur police station limits.
Officials said the Special Crime Team first developed intelligence through informant networks and then tracked the suspects’ recent movements.
Police teams also observed their online activity, which helped identify locations and patterns.
After continuous surveillance, officers moved in during the morning hours and detained the suspects.
The operation was led by Inspector Ch. Sudhakar Rao of the Special Crime Team with his staff.
Senior officers including DCP S. Chaitanya Kumar and ACP G. Venkateswar Reddy supervised the investigation.
Hyderabad Police said efforts are continuing to verify whether the gang was involved in more theft cases.
Officials advised citizens to use wheel locks, park vehicles in secure places and report suspicious activity immediately.
The case highlights the increasing use of digital intelligence and social media monitoring in solving organised property crimes.
