Instructed Bankers To Take Initiative In Waiving Farmer’s Loans: Tummala

Hyderabad, Aug 20 (Maxim News): Minister for Agriculture Tummala Nageswara Rao has instructed the bankers to play a key role in the success of the “Rythu Runa Mafi (Farmers Loan Waiver Scheme) undertaken by the Telangana government. He said that it is the responsibility of the bankers to correct the mistakes in the farmer’s accounts and make them benefit.

Minister Tummala along with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka participated in the State Level Bankers Meet organized on this occasion. Minister Tummala said that this year with God’s grace there is plenty of rain. He expressed hope that this year the crops will grow in a larger area. Tummala said that even in difficult times, the Congress government has already released Rs. 18 thousand crores under the loan waiver scheme. He said that some farmers have not yet been exempted and there are various reasons for that. The Minister advised the bankers to resolve all of them soon and stand with the farmers. The minister said that there is no need for farmers who have not deposited cash to worry.

Tummala asked the bankers to give clear instructions to the branch managers of the banks working at the village level to correct the mistakes in the loan accounts of the farmers. Advised to act responsibly in loan waiver. He said that the responsibility of the bankers is to contribute to the complete completion of the loan waiver program. Tummala stated that there is no point in holding meetings and bankers’ conferences every three months to study numbers.

Tummala asked the bankers to play a key role in ensuring that the farmers, the poor, and the people of the lower classes get financial results through the schemes.  (Maxim News)
