Washington, August 7: Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max at its annual September launch event, with multiple reports indicating a possible September 7 debut. Although Apple has not officially confirmed the launch date, industry reports suggest the event will also feature new Apple Watch models and the company’s first foldable iPhone.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to arrive with significant upgrades, including a faster processor, improved cameras, enhanced battery life, and a refined display. However, Apple has not confirmed any of the leaked specifications or pricing.
iPhone 18 Pro Max Expected Price and Features
The iPhone 18 Pro lineup is likely to see a price increase in India. The current iPhone 17 Pro starts at ₹1,34,999, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max is priced from ₹1,49,999. Reports suggest the new models could cost up to ₹20,000 more, depending on the storage variant, though the final pricing will be announced at launch.
The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to retain a 6.3 inch LTPO+ OLED display, while the Pro Max could feature a 6.9 inch LTPO+ OLED panel with higher brightness and improved power efficiency. Apple is also tipped to reduce the size of the Dynamic Island by placing more Face ID components beneath the display, offering users additional screen space.
Camera improvements are expected to be among the biggest highlights. The Pro models may introduce a variable aperture primary camera, allowing automatic adjustment of light entering the sensor. This technology could improve low light photography, reduce overexposure, and deliver more natural portrait shots with enhanced depth effects.
Powering the devices is expected to be Apple’s next generation A20 chipset, reportedly built on TSMC’s 2nm process. The new chip is expected to deliver faster performance while consuming less power. Apple is also rumoured to introduce its in house C2 modem, offering improved network connectivity and expanded satellite communication capabilities.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max could also feature a larger battery, with reports suggesting a capacity of up to 5,200mAh, promising better battery life than the current generation.
Apple may introduce new colour options, including Dark Cherry Red, Light Blue, and a Dark Grey finish. The Pro Max model is also expected to be slightly thicker to accommodate the larger battery.
