Jagtial/Hyderabad, Aug 9 (Maxim News): Congress senior leader and MLC Jeevan Reddy, along with Dharmapuri MLA Adluri Laxman, expressed deep concern and sadness over the recent series of student deaths at the Peddapur Gurukula School in Metpalli Mandal. The latest incident involved two students who fell critically ill, with one of them tragically passing away.

Incident Details and Immediate Response

On Friday morning, two students at Peddapur Gurukula School suffered severe stomach pain, leading to the death of one of them. Following this tragic event, Jeevan Reddy and MLA Laxman promptly visited the site to assess the situation. They pledged to support the affected families and promised a thorough investigation into the incident.

MLC Jeevan Reddy confirmed that the deceased student, Anirudh, was from Rajanna Sirisilla district. He emphasized the need for an immediate investigation and assured that all responsible parties would be held accountable. Reddy has already engaged with district officials and warned that negligence would not be tolerated.

MLA Laxman’s Criticism and Demands

MLA Laxman criticized the previous BRS government for neglecting Gurukula schools and demanded accountability. He questioned why issues affecting students were not addressed in the Assembly and challenged Korutla MLA Dr. Sanjay to explain his actions regarding Gurukulas over the past decade. Laxman also asserted that those responsible for the recent deaths would face severe consequences.

Previous Incidents and Ongoing Concerns

This incident follows a previous tragedy on July 27, when two students, Harshavardhan and Udepu Ganesh, were bitten by a snake while sleeping at the Peddapur Gurukula School. Both students were treated at Nizamabad Hospital, but Ganesh succumbed to his injuries. The deaths have deeply alarmed the parents, who are now anxiously awaiting answers.

Ruling party leaders who visited the dormitory reassured the students and their families, promising that an investigation would be conducted and that strict action would be taken against those responsible for these tragic events. (Maxim News)
