Jubilee Hills by poll | Hyderabad, Nov. 11: Polling for the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency by-election began smoothly at 7 AM, with officials carrying out the initial mock polling procedures in front of agents from all contesting parties.

After sealing the EVMs and VVPATs, the main voting process started on time. Voting will continue until 6 PM, with 4,01,365 eligible voters expected to participate and exercise their rights.

A total of 58 candidates are contesting in this crucial bypoll, leading to a triangular contest among Naveen Yadav from Congress, Sunitha from BRS, and Lankala Deepak Reddy from BJP.

Election officials have set up 407 polling stations across 139 localities, and nearly 5,000 staff members are involved in the smooth conduct of the election.

Jubilee Hills by poll begins

To maintain law and order, authorities have deployed 1,761 police personnel and an additional 800 central forces. Notably, for the first time, officials are using drones to monitor polling activities across all 139 locations.

Section 144 has been enforced at the polling centres to prevent any untoward incidents, and so far, the polling has remained peaceful and steady.

The Election Commission has already appealed to voters to come out in large numbers and ensure they vote before 6 PM.

Meanwhile, BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha cast her vote with family members at Navodaya Colony in Ellareddyguda, setting an example for others to follow.
