Judicial Custody Of Sisodia Extended Till May 8 In The Delhi Liquor Scam

Delhi/Hyderabad, April 29 (Maxim News):  A Delhi Court on Saturday extended the judicial custody of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia in the Delhi Liquor scam case.  In this case, registered by the Enforcement Directorate, the Rouse Avenue District Court extended his judicial custody till May 8.  ED officials produced him in court today. 

After Sisodia’s Judicial custody ended on Saturday, ED officials produced him before Special Judge MK Nagpal.  The judge issued orders extending his judicial custody till May 8. 

It is known that the Court rejected Sisodia’s bail application on Friday.  The court said that the evidence shows his involvement in this crime.  It said that the claim of Sisodia influencing the witnesses in the case cannot be ruled out. 

CBI and ED are investigating the Delhi Excise Policy case.  In the case registered by the CBI, it has been alleged that there were irregularities and corruption in the formulation and implementation of this policy.  The court on March 31 rejected Sisodia’s bail application in the case.  ED is investigating the financial transactions in this case. 

The CBI alleged that the liquor companies were involved in the formulation of this policy and that the liquor lobby South Group paid huge contributions.  Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was also questioned by the CBI in this case.  In the same way, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter and BRS MLA Kavitha were questioned by ED.  (Maxim News)
