Mumbai, June 28, 2025 (Maxim News): Popular actress and dancer Shefali Jariwala, best known for her sensational 2002 music video ‘Kaanta Laga’, tragically passed away late Friday night in Mumbai at the age of 42.
According to reports, Jariwala was found unresponsive at her home and was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital by her husband. Doctors declared her dead on arrival. While the official cause of death is yet to be confirmed, preliminary sources suggest a suspected cardiac arrest.
Her body has been moved to Cooper Hospital for a postmortem examination, and Mumbai Police have launched a preliminary investigation into the circumstances surrounding her sudden demise. The household staff, including the domestic help and cook, are being questioned to establish a timeline of events. A forensic team has also conducted a thorough inspection of her residence.
Although authorities have not confirmed foul play, the nature of the police and forensic involvement indicates that all angles are being explored.
An Icon of the Early 2000s
Shefali Jariwala became a pop culture sensation with her electrifying appearance in the ‘Kaanta Laga’ remix video, which catapulted her into instant stardom during the early 2000s. Her fame led to an acting role in the Salman Khan starrer ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ and later, appearances in the digital space, including the 2019 web series ‘Baby Come Naa’.
She also appeared on numerous reality television shows such as Boogie Woogie, Nach Baliye, and Bigg Boss 13, where she reunited with her former boyfriend, the late Sidharth Shukla, who also passed away prematurely due to heart-related complications.
In a poignant connection, Jariwala’s final post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) was a tribute to Shukla. “Thinking of you today mere dost Sidharth Shukla,” she wrote.
