Kavitha Demands ‘White Paper’ On Rs.1.5 Lakh Crore Loans By Congress Govt.

Hyderabad, Mar 10 (Maxim News): Coming down heavily on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for mounting debts, BRS MLC K. Kavitha has demanded that the government present a white paper on the expenditure of Rs. 1.5 lakh crore obtained as loans in the last 15 months. She charged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy with misleading the public and tarnishing Telangana’s image to hide his government’s failures

Revanth Reddy, who had no role in the Telangana Statehood Movement, is now peddling lies instead of promoting the State. He falsely claimed in Delhi recently that Telangana is in a financial crisis, projecting the State in a poor light,” she said.

Refuting his claims, Kavitha pointed to RBI data, which states that Telangana generates Rs. 18,500 crore monthly revenue on average. After covering Rs. 6,500 crore for salaries and other recurring expenditures, the government still has Rs. 12,000 crore available. She questioned why, despite this, the Congress government borrowed Rs. 1.5 lakh crore at an average of Rs. 10,000 crore per month but has only spent Rs. 3,000 crore on capital expenditure.

The BRS MLC rebuked Revanth Reddy’s contradictory statements, stating that while he claimed the government lacked Rs. 500 crore for capital projects, he also boasted about Telangana’s development competing with New York. “This Chief Minister does not even make basic sense. How can a State struggling to spend Rs. 500 crore per month on capital expenditure compete with New York in development?” she asked.

Kavitha compared the BRS regime’s financial record, stating that while the previous government took Rs. 4.3 lakh crore in loans, including Rs. 38,000 crore obtained by various corporations, it created Rs. 50 lakh crore worth of wealth. She questioned the government on the fate of its electoral promises, including Rs. 2,500 monthly aid, one tola of gold under Kalyana Lakshmi/Shaadi Mubarak, electric scooters for women, Rs. 4,000 social security pension, and development of infrastructure.

Despite obtaining Rs. 1.5 lakh crore in loans, the Congress did not disclose where the money had gone.  Revanth Reddy should have at least laid a foundation or given a blueprint for the remaining 45 months instead of making excuses,” she asserted. (Maxim News)
