Hyderabad: KBR Park turned into a giant traffic rotary on Tuesday morning as Hyderabad Traffic Police implemented a one-way traffic system around the park.
The new arrangement came into effect at 6 am on August 18, 2026. It covers the six-lane road surrounding the Kasu Brahmananda Reddy National Park.
Under the new system, motorists travelling on Road No. 3 from Banjara Hills towards Jubilee Hills Checkpost must take a left turn at the traffic signal.
KBR Park One-Way Rule Changes Morning Traffic
The change was immediately felt by regular KBR Park visitors. Morning walkers travelling from the LV Prasad Film and TV Academy side, who earlier drove straight towards parking areas, were required to take the designated left turn.
They then had to find parking after moving around the new traffic loop.
At the other end, motorists and school buses coming from Yousufguda were also directed to follow the circular route instead of taking the earlier right turn at the signal.
The new arrangement initially caused confusion among some motorists. Traffic police personnel were deployed at key points to explain the revised movement and guide commuters.
Around 200 police personnel were deployed on the roads to implement the system and assist motorists.
Police said several motorists stopped to seek clarification, while others were already aware of the changes.
The continuous movement of vehicles helped improve traffic flow on some stretches. However, the faster movement also made it more difficult for morning walkers and pedestrians working in the area to cross the road.
The new system has also removed certain U-turn movements near Filmnagar Junction and another location towards the park. Police said this could reduce travel time for some commuters.
H-CITI Works Prompt KBR Park Traffic Changes
The one-way system has been introduced as a traffic-management measure amid ongoing H-CITI construction works.
The road works have reduced the available carriageway around KBR Park. According to traffic police, the one-way arrangement is intended to maintain smoother and safer vehicular movement while construction continues.
Police personnel will remain deployed round-the-clock at important locations to guide commuters and help manage traffic.
Motorists have been advised to follow lane markings, avoid sudden stops and comply with instructions from traffic personnel while using the revised route.
The Hyderabad Traffic Police have also urged commuters to plan their journeys in advance, particularly during peak morning and evening hours, as motorists adjust to the new traffic pattern.
