Some users questioned how the national flag could be depicted without the Ashoka Chakra. Others also criticised the actor for including his personal logo or name in the Independence Day greeting.
At the same time, some social media users defended Allu Arjun and suggested that the error could have been made by the creative team that prepared the post.
One user said the Ashoka Chakra was visible elsewhere in the artwork and argued that the omission from the flag could have been an unintentional mistake.
The controversy gained attention online before the post was subsequently removed from Allu Arjun’s X account.
Allu Arjun has not publicly commented on the criticism or explained why the Independence Day post was deleted.
The incident comes as celebrities across India shared messages and creative posts marking the country’s 80th Independence Day.
