KCR directs officials to be on alert to tackle rain fury

Hyderabad, July 9 (Maxim News): Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao directed the officials to be on alert to tackle any kind of emergency following the incessant rains in Telangana.

The Chief Minister asked Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to conduct a review meeting with all district collectors and other officials to monitor the rain situation in the State. The Chief Secretary has also been directed to make alert NDRF and Rescue teams in the flood prone areas.

Following Red alert in Telangana and also in Maharashtra, the Chief Minister said he will review the situation from time to time and also hold video conference based on the situation.

KCR has also urged Ministers, MPs, MLAs, local body and other representatives to be alert in their respective areas and to help people in rescue operations and ensure no damages occurred.

KCR urges people to confine homes

The Chief Minister has urged people not to venture out of their homes unless there is an emergency and take self-precautions following the incessant rains across the State.

Irrigation wing on alert

In the wake of heavy inflows and flooding in River Godavari and Pranahitha, KCR has alerted the Irrigation officials and instructed them to take necessary steps.

Revenue conferences postponed

Following heavy rains, the Chief Minister deferred “Revenue Awareness Programme” with ministers, MLAs and collectors to be held at Pragati Bhavan on July 11.

KCR also informed that the proposed State wide ‘Revenue Sadassulu’ to be held from July 15 has also been postponed. The Chief Minister said the new schedule for the conduct of two programmes will be announced after normal weather conditions are restored in the State. (Maxim News)
