Komatireddy Venkat Reddy Expressed Anger Over Handcuff To Farmers

Hyderabad, June 13 (Maxim News): Senior Congress leader Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy expressed his anger over the handcuffing of farmers of Raigiri.

The Regional Ring Road farmers were produced by the police in the court of the Senior Civil Judge, Bhuvanagiri. He was brought to the court in handcuffs. Annadata (a farmer who produced food) was kept in Nalgonda district jail for 14 days. After being remanded for 14 days, he was produced before the Court.

Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said Dalit lands are being forcibly taken in the name of land acquisition for the Regional Ring Road. An acre or two acres of farmers’ land is being grabbed without taking government lands. They were arrested and sent to jail despite continuing peaceful sit-ins and protests. Tears flowed in the eyes of the farmers of Rayagiri when they saw the bedis (handcuffs). What will KCR say that he is doing it only for farmers? We strongly condemn the handcuffs to the farmers.

He demanded strict action against the officials related to this, he also demanded that the cases filed against the farmers would be withdrawn unconditionally. (Maxim News)
