The development was hailed by BRS working president and former Industries Minister KT Rama Rao on Saturday. He described it as a “proud moment for Telangana.” Groundbreaking for 11 factories by Youngone took place in June 2023, and the inaugural unit is now exporting T-shirts to international markets, with expectations that the full rollout will transform Warangal into a premier textile hub.

He emphasized the project’s focus on local empowerment, noting that 90% of the workforce in the operational unit comprises women from the region. “This is a true symbol of empowerment,” he stated, highlighting how the initiative aligns with broader goals of job creation and gender inclusivity.

The Kakatiya Mega Textile Park, sprawling across 1,350 acres, has emerged as the hallmark of Telangana’s textile strategy. It leverages the state’s reputation for producing some of India’s finest cotton, bridging agriculture and manufacturing under the “Farm to Fashion” mantra.

Taking to social media platform X, Rama Rao credited the leadership of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao for policies like the Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self-Certification System (TSiPASS), a streamlined single-window clearance mechanism that has drawn major multinational corporations (MNCs) to the State. These efforts, he said, have generated large-scale employment opportunities for local youth, positioning Telangana as a benchmark for industrial growth nationwide.

The investment’s roots trace back to Rama Rao’s tenure as Industries Minister, when he led a delegation to South Korea and engaged with Youngone Corporation officials. (Maxim News)
