KTR Accuses Revanth Reddy Of Massive Land Scam
- KTR alleges ₹5 lakh crore land scam under HILTP policy
- BRS leader claims Congress move benefits middlemen and real estate groups
Hyderabad: BRS Working President K. Tarak Rama Rao accused Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of planning a massive ₹5 lakh crore land scam under the Hyderabad Industrial Lands Transformation Policy. He said the new policy is the “biggest land scam in the history of India” and alleged that it aims to help politically connected middlemen, relatives and real estate groups close to the Chief Minister.
KTR said the Congress government presented HILTP as a reform policy. However, he claimed that the real purpose is to convert thousands of acres of valuable industrial land into multi-use real estate at very low rates. “This is not just a policy; it is a blueprint for a ₹5 lakh crore scam,” he said. He added that “under the guise of industrial land regularization, Revanth Reddy has initiated the largest land scam India has ever witnessed.”
He said the policy covers nearly 9292 acres of industrial clusters in Balanagar, Jeedimetla, Sanathnagar and Azamabad. He stated that the present market value of these lands is between ₹40 crore and ₹50 crore per acre. He alleged that the government wants to regularize the lands for only 30 percent of the SRO rate. He argued that even the SRO rate is already far below the open market value. “Even the SRO value is not being collected fully. Only 30% is being taken. The remaining lakhs of crores will directly benefit private pockets,” he claimed.
KTR said that past governments allotted industrial land at subsidised rates to promote jobs and production. He said these lands were earlier acquired from farmers only for industrial use. He claimed that the new policy will divert public land for private profit. He also said that similar proposals were rejected during the BRS regime because “public land cannot be given away cheaply for private benefit.”
He questioned the “extraordinary speed” of the process. He pointed to seven days for applications, seven days for approvals and 45 days for regularization. He asked why there is such urgency for a matter “worth lakhs of crores.” He alleged that the Chief Minister’s “brothers, followers and middlemen” already made advance agreements before the final approval of the policy.
He called the new policy an “ATM for the Congress Party.” He said the government earlier targeted Musi riverbed land, Metro Rail land and University of Hyderabad land, and is now focusing on industrial clusters. He claimed that the Chief Minister is “surrounded by land dealers” and is rushing the policy for their benefit.
He warned industrialists not to enter deals under HILTP. He said these deals would face legal action in the future and that a future BRS government would cancel the regularization, order a full inquiry and take criminal action. He demanded the immediate withdrawal of the policy. He said that if the government had sincere intentions, it would reclaim half of the land for public use and auction the rest to raise revenue. He alleged that the Chief Minister wants to divert ₹5 lakh crore and “put at least ₹50,000 crore into his own pocket.”
KTR also urged the BJP to oppose the policy. He asked the people of Telangana to stay alert and called the move a “daylight robbery” of public assets.
