National Hajj Conference To Finalize 2026 Plan

Hyderabad: The Ministry of Minority Affairs will host the National Hajj Conference in Mumbai on Saturday to finalise the plan for the 2026 Haj pilgrimage. The ministry said the meeting will focus on a safe, smooth and dignified experience for more than 1,75,000 Indian pilgrims. The event will take place at the Haj House in Mumbai.

The ministry said the high-level conference will bring together key officials from across the country. Chandra Shekhar Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs, will chair the meeting. He will also meet the Executive Officers of all State and Union Territory Haj Committees. The ministry stated that the aim is to improve cooperation between the State and UT Haj Committees and the Haj Committee of India. It said this coordination is important to offer better services to all India Haj Yatris.

The ministry added that the conference will also review the current systems. It said the teams will work on a clear plan for the 2026 pilgrimage. This includes decisions that will help pilgrims during their travel and stay. Officials said such steps will support the goal of providing world-class facilities. They added that the process will help every pilgrim get proper support before, during and after the journey.

The ministry said the conference is an important step in preparing for next year’s pilgrimage. It noted that this early planning will help in smooth execution later. It said the meeting will also help State and UT committees understand their roles. The ministry added that coordination at this stage is necessary to avoid issues later in the process. The conference will therefore act as a platform for all teams to align their work and goals.
