Hyderabad, Sept. 21: Two people were killed and several others suffered severe injuries after a passenger vehicle hit a tree and overturned in Nagarkurnool district on Monday morning.
The accident occurred at Domalapenta in Amrabad mandal. The vehicle was carrying passengers from Uttar Pradesh who were returning to Hyderabad after offering prayers at Srisailam.
The Force Motors Cruiser, bearing registration number TS04UB1403, was travelling from Srisailam towards Hyderabad. The accident occurred near the Octopus viewpoint.
According to reports, the driver lost control while trying to avoid a two wheeler approaching from the opposite direction. The vehicle then hit a tree, overturned and fell on the roadside.
Around 12 passengers were travelling in the vehicle when the accident occurred. Several passengers sustained severe injuries in the crash.
Nagarkurnool Accident Triggers Rescue Operation
Forest staff reached the accident site soon after receiving information about the crash. They assisted in the rescue operation and shifted the injured passengers to GENCO Hospital for treatment.
Police also reached the spot and began gathering details about the accident. Officials are examining the circumstances that led to the vehicle losing control.
The passengers had travelled to Srisailam for prayers before beginning their return journey to Hyderabad. The accident occurred during that journey near the Octopus viewpoint.
The crash caused the passenger vehicle to overturn after its collision with the roadside tree.
Rescue personnel focused on moving the injured passengers to the hospital for medical treatment.
