Hyderabad, Oct.15 (NSS): Minister for IT and Industries KT Rama Rao on Saturday laid the foundation stone for a manufacturing unit of the Malabar Gems & Jewellery at Maheshwaram in Rangareddy district. It would be set up with an investment of ₹750 crores.
The facility is set to become the largest jewelry manufacturing unit of Malabar Gold & Diamonds. It is slated to be operational soon and would generate 2,750 jobs.
Malabar Gold & Diamonds has 17 retail showrooms in Telangana employing more than 1000 people. The company has plans to further expand its retail presence in Telangana.
Principal Secretary Industries & Commerce Department Jayesh Ranjan, Director, Industries D Krishna Bhaskar, Chairman, Vice Chairman of Malabar Group of Companies, Ahammed M P, Abdul Salam KP respectively, were among those present at the ceremony. (NSS)
