Legal Metrology Officials Inspects Fruit Markets in City

They found that two weighing machines from the market had defects. They also found that the electronic weighing machines used by the other shops also had general defects. The officials said that some of the traders were importing chemicals from China and using them for the ripening of fruits.

Hyderabad, April 9 (Maxim News): The officials of Legal metrology department of the city today inspected Gaddi Annaram and Kothapet fruit markets following complaints from several farmers about the irregularities committed by the traders at the market.

They found that two weighing machines from the market had defects. They also found that the electronic weighing machines used by the other shops also had general defects. The officials said that some of the traders were importing chemicals from China and using them for the ripening of fruits.

They said that they booked a total of 18 cases during their inspections. The officials also created awareness among the traders about the process to keep the fruit stocks. (Maxim News)
