According to the chargesheet, the source of the leak was traced to Mahim Patran Pvt Ltd, an Agra-based printing press handling the confidential examination material. Two employees and a former staff member allegedly concealed folded papers inside their shoe insoles to bypass security checks.

Police have also cited financial transactions and technical evidence as part of the investigation. An original question paper was reportedly recovered from the Bihar residence of a relative of Gupta.

The chargesheet further states that Gupta had previously been implicated in an examination paper leak case in Odisha. Police have alleged that the accused formed a network to circulate the leaked papers among prospective candidates for money.
