LB Nagar Suicide Case | Hyderabad, Sept. 19: A suicide case involving a tribal youth in Hyderabad’s LB Nagar has triggered controversy over allegations of harassment and an attempted settlement.
The deceased has been identified as Rajesh, who belonged to the Erukala community. According to allegations in the case, Rajesh faced harassment following a dispute involving a motorcycle.
The allegations name Suresh Yadav, described in the material as an LB Nagar Congress leader and grandson of Congress leader Easwaramma Yadav. He is accused of repeatedly assaulting and harassing Rajesh over three days.
Rajesh reportedly died by suicide at his residence after the alleged harassment. An audio recording said to involve Easwaramma Yadav and Rajesh’s mother has since circulated on social media.3
The recording allegedly contains a conversation about settling the matter and protecting Suresh Yadav from involvement in the case. In the alleged conversation, the woman is heard asking the victim’s mother to tell police that Rajesh had taken the extreme step on his own.

The recording also allegedly contains an offer of financial assistance and a double-bedroom house in return for stating that Suresh Yadav had no connection with the incident.
The authenticity of the audio recording and the circumstances surrounding the alleged conversation have not been independently established.
Tribal and civil society groups have reportedly demanded a detailed investigation into Rajesh’s death and the allegations against those named in the controversy.
They have also sought action under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act against Suresh Yadav and Easwaramma Yadav if the allegations are established.
The allegations are likely to put further focus on the police investigation into the circumstances surrounding Rajesh’s death. Any criminal liability will depend on the findings of the investigation and evidence established through due legal process.
