Nalgonda, June 15: A land rights dispute turned fatal in Rotigadda Thanda under Chintapalli mandal of Nalgonda district after a man died following an attack with stones during a clash between two groups.
According to villagers, Nenavath Ravinder Nayak and his partners, Nenavath Rajender Nayak and Nenavath Ravi Nayak, jointly owned three acres of land near Takkallapalli village. They had earlier divided and cultivated the land separately.
On Sunday evening, an argument reportedly broke out over land ownership. Soon after, the dispute escalated and both sides allegedly attacked each other with sticks and stones.
Villagers rushed to the spot after learning about the incident. They alerted the police as Ravinder Nayak suffered severe injuries to his head and back.
Family members shifted him towards Hyderabad for treatment. However, he died on the way.
The incident created tension in the village. Police said the accused persons left the area after the attack.
Based on a complaint filed by the deceased’s wife and relatives, police registered a case and started an investigation.
