Sangareddy, June 15: Rare mineral deposits including vanadium, titanium and aluminous laterite have been identified in Parvathapur on the outskirts of Sangareddy district, according to findings by the Geological Survey of India.
Officials and experts identified the deposits in Parvathapur under Raipalli Thanda Gram Panchayat in Mogudampalli mandal. The survey covered more than 800 acres of government and private land between survey numbers 5 and 48.
According to officials, the identified reserves include 15.25 million tonnes of vanadium and about 87 million tonnes of aluminous laterite and titanium deposits spread across 335.50 hectares.
Officials said these minerals could support sectors such as electric batteries, aerospace, defence and energy storage.
Vanadium may strengthen steel production and support battery manufacturing. Likewise, aluminous laterite could support aircraft production, military equipment and related industries.
The Centre conducted multiple surveys in the area before identifying the deposits. Recently, Union Minister Kishan Reddy promoted investment opportunities linked to the mineral block.
On June 11, state owned NLC India Limited emerged as the preferred bidder in the mine auction conducted by the Ministry of Mines.
Officials said the location near Zaheerabad, along with access to National Highway 65 and railway connectivity, could improve investor interest.
They added that planned projects including the Hyderabad Nagpur Industrial Corridor, the NIMS project and the proposed integrated industrial smart city could strengthen industrial growth and generate employment in the region.
