Hyderabad, July 30: The Hyderabad City Police on Thursday conducted a comprehensive counselling programme for 288 cell phone offenders at the City Training Centre (CTC), Petlaburj, as part of efforts to reduce property crimes through reformative policing.
The programme was organised on the directions of the Hyderabad Commissioner of Police and was presided over by Additional Commissioner of Police (Crimes & SIT) M. Srinivas, IPS.
The counselling session brought together offenders from all seven police zones in Hyderabad. Senior police officials, including DCPs from Secunderabad, Jubilee Hills and Charminar zones, Additional DCP Task Force, zonal Additional DCPs and Detective Inspectors, attended the programme.
Officials advised participants to stay away from mobile phone thefts and other property offences. They encouraged them to acquire employable skills, pursue lawful livelihoods and lead disciplined, crime-free lives.
Addressing the gathering, M. Srinivas said the initiative aims to combine strict law enforcement with opportunities for rehabilitation. He warned that habitual offenders would face stringent legal action, while those genuinely willing to reform would receive support for skill development and reintegration into society.
Police also highlighted the legal consequences of repeat offences and urged participants to abandon criminal activities permanently.
The Hyderabad City Police said it will continue to tackle property crimes through a combination of preventive policing, targeted counselling, strong enforcement and rehabilitation programmes.
