RTC officials are currently holding discussions with electric auto manufacturers, and the services are expected to begin once the procurement process is completed.

RTC Electric Autos To Make Bus Travel More Convenient

The electric autos will allow passengers to book an auto ride along with their bus ticket, enabling seamless travel from their location to the nearest bus stop and from the destination bus stop to their final destination.

Officials said the move aims to improve commuter convenience and encourage greater use of public transport by providing hassle-free connectivity at both ends of the journey.

In the first phase, the services will be rolled out across the Greater Hyderabad region. Subsequently, the project is expected to be extended to major cities including Warangal, Karimnagar, Khammam, and Nizamabad.

RTC is also working to ensure that fares for the electric autos remain lower than those charged by app-based cab aggregators such as Ola, Uber, and Rapido, making the service more affordable for daily commuters.

The initiative is expected to benefit residents in suburban areas such as LB Nagar, Uppal, Miyapur, Patancheru, Rajendranagar, Ghatkesar, Shamirpet, Shamshabad, and Serilingampally, where access to public transport remains a challenge.

Officials believe the new service will improve connectivity to RTC bus services, reduce travel time, and provide commuters with a more integrated public transport experience.
