Manikrao Thakre participates in the ‘Haath Se Haath Se Jodo’ Yatra in Kodad

Hyderabad, March 1: AICC Telangana Incharge, Manikrao Thakre, and Nalgonda MP Capt N. Uttam Kumar Reddy launched the ‘Haath Se Haath Jodo’ door-to-door campaign in Kodad town of Suryapet district on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Manikrao Thackery said that the ‘Haath Se Haath Se Jodo’ campaign has been receiving tremendous response across the Telangana State. He said that the main intention of the ‘Haath Se Haath Se Jodo’ yatra was to take the message of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra to every household in the country. Further, he said through the ‘Haath Se Haath Se Jodo’ campaign, the Congress party has been exposing the failures of the BJP Govt at the Centre and the BRS Govt in Telangana State. He said that the ‘Haath Se Haath Se Jodo’ would be conducted in all Assembly constituencies in Telangana and the Congress workers would meet every family to explain how it was deceived by the Modi and KCR Governments.

Speaking on the occasion, Manikrao Thakre highlighted that UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi granted statehood to Telangana, turning the 60-year-old dream into a reality. However, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has shattered the dream of Telangana and deceived all sections of society, leaving them without promised jobs, houses, loans, and other facilities.

Nalgonda MP & former TPCC President Uttam Kumar Reddy ridiculed BRS leaders for calling Telangana a model state. He explained that Telangana had the potential to become the most prosperous and economically strong state in the country. However, CM KCR has ruined the prospects and turned the state into a debt-ridden one. “In the last eight years, Telangana State has accumulated a debt of over Rs. 5 lakh crore, neglecting the long-term implications. However, even after such extensive borrowing, not a single welfare scheme has been entirely executed, resulting in the State facing a severe financial crisis today,” he alleged.

He said none of the promises made by KCR in the last eight-and-a-half years was fulfilled. Nearly 40 lakh people in Telangana were jobless, including nearly 25 lakh qualified youth registered with the Telangana State Public Services Commission. KCR Govt failed to provide jobs or honour the promise of giving an Unemployment Allowance of Rs. 3,016 to jobless youth. Similarly, against 22 lakh homeless families, not even 22,000 received the promised 2-BHK houses.

Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that BJP and BRS had a secret alliance to wrongly highlight Congress as weak in Telangana State. However, the Congress party has a strong presence in all 34,000 polling booths in the State, and the false propaganda by BRS and BJP could not affect its prospects of returning to power in the next Assembly elections. He predicted that the Congress party would sweep the next elections, and many top BRS and BJP leaders would not able to secure their deposits.

He said both BJP and BRS have been cheating the people by using fancy names for various schemes. While BJP Govt is fooling with the people by using the titles like ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’ or ‘Make In India’, BRS Govt is cheating by using names like ‘Rythu Bandhu’, ‘Dalit Bandhu’ or ‘Kalyana Laxmi’. In reality, he said, the welfare schemes did not reach the common people. Lakhs of farmers are still waiting for their crop loans up to Rs. 1 lakh to be waived off as promised by CM KCR in 2018. Similarly, the careers of lakhs of students have been spoiled as the BRS Govt did not clear Fee Reimbursement dues or pay Scholarships. Poor patients have no access to better medical care in their respective districts, and the corporate hospitals are not entertaining Aarogyasri cases.

The Congress party aims to expose all the failures of the BJP and BRS Govts and counter their false propaganda. Earlier in the day, AICC Telangana Incharge Manikrao Thakre conducted a meeting of key leaders in the Nalgonda Parliamentary constituency in Kodad on Wednesday. AICC secretary N.S. Bose Raju, MP Uttam Kumar Reddy, and other senior leaders were present at the meeting. Manikrao Thakre was accorded a grand welcome on his arrival in Kodad on Tuesday. (Maxim News)
