Mayor visits control room

Hyderabad, July 9 (Maxim News): Mayor Gadwal R Vijalakshmi today inspected the control room of GHMC at its Head Office and enquired about the rain fall situation, number of complaints received and nature of complaints. The OSD of the Control Room Anuradha appraised the Mayor the amount of rain fall occurred in various localities of the GHMC and the functions of the Control room on receipt of the complaints. She said that they would pass on the information to the department concerned to take necessary action.

Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said that the amount of rain fall in the city was between 1.5 to 6.4 cm since yesterday. She said that they received 383 complaints so far and added that they solved 375 complaints while noting that the remaining 8 are in at different stages of disposal.

She also said that All precautions were taken at 197 lakes and teams were engaged to supervise the flow of water into lakes. She said that if situation required, sluice gates would be lifted to allow water to recede. To control the seasonal diseases, entomology wing has already taken up pre- monsoon activities like fogging, spraying and continuing anti larva activities, she noted.

The Mayor said that GHMC was taking all precautionary measures and monitoring the situation. She said that the corporation was displaying signage boards at all ongoing SNDP works

Cautioning public about them. She said that they had posted one attendant at the place of work and added that officials concerned would be monitoring the situation she added. The Mayor also visited Command and Control room on the 7 th floor of the GHMC Head office and saw the rain fall situation in the city.
