MBBS Student Died In Accident In Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A 20-year-old MBBS student died after the car she was traveling in along with a friend crashed into a tree in Gachibowli in the wee hours of Monday.

According to the police, the victim, P. Priyanka, a third year medical student in Georgia and a resident of Madhuranagar in the city, was travelling in a car along with her friend Mithi Modi (20) a second year degree student when the accident took place. Priyanka had left her house around 4 pm on Sunday after informing her mother that she was going out with her friends.

“Around 1.20 am, Modi, who was driving the car, lost control of it and the car crashed into a tree near Gachibowli. He was in an inebriated condition and was driving quite fast,” said R Srinivas, SHO, Gachibowli, adding that Priyanka was rushed to a nearby private hospital where she died while undergoing treatment.

Following a complaint from the victim’s mother, Modi was arrested and produced before court, after which he was remanded in judicial custody.
