Hyderabad, April 29: Residents of Kokapet under the Narsingi Circle panicked after multiple blasting incidents during late night construction activity on Monday.
Locals alleged that blasting operations linked to a construction project near Premier Hospital caused severe vibrations and damage to nearby houses.
Kokapet Blasting Incident Sparks Safety Concerns
According to residents, excavation work for cellar construction has been underway for several months at a large venture linked to a private construction company.
People alleged that blasting continued despite repeated complaints to police and municipal authorities.
Residents claimed explosions occurred at around ten locations during the night, creating loud sounds and heavy vibrations across the area.
Several locals reportedly rushed out of their homes fearing aftershocks and structural collapse.
Residents further alleged that stones and debris fell on nearby houses after the blasts.
According to complaints, walls, balconies and household items in some buildings suffered damage due to the impact.
Some residents also claimed borewells in the locality were affected following repeated blasting activity.
Locals alleged that temporary permissions were being used for carrying out the blasting operations.
Police said they registered a case and initiated action following complaints from affected residents.
Officials confirmed that complaints regarding property damage were received and are being examined.
Residents demanded strict action and stronger safety measures to prevent further incidents in the densely populated area.
