Visakhapatnam July 12: A mild earthquake of magnitude 4.5 struck the Bay of Bengal early on Sunday, and tremors were felt in parts of Visakhapatnam.
The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services said the quake occurred at 5:05:46 am IST. It registered at depth of 10 km and had an epicentre about 225 km off Kakinada.

The coordinates reported were latitude 16.805°N and longitude 84.381°E.
The release said tremors were mild and felt in several Visakhapatnam areas. No casualties or property damage were reported. Officials added residents did not panic.
