Mirchowk double murder case | Hyderabad, April 21 (Maxim News): Mirchowk police solved a sensational double murder case within 24 hours and arrested the accused involved in the killing of a man and his wife at Sultanpura in the Old City of Hyderabad.
Police arrested Adil Khan on Tuesday in connection with Crime No. 113/2026 registered under Section 103(1) of BNS at Mirchowk Police Station.
Officials said the arrest came under the directions of DCP B. Rajesh and Addl. DCP M.A. Majeed. ACP G. Shyam Sunder supervised the operation along with the Mirchowk police team.
Mirchowk double murder | Couple Killed at Sultanpura House
According to police, the incident took place on April 20 at around 6 pm when deceased Aqueel Khan and his wife Ajmeera Begum were present at their residence in Sultanpura.
At that time, Aqueel Khan’s elder brother Adil Khan allegedly entered the house with a knife and attacked both of them.
Police said the accused stabbed the victims on the neck and chest. Both suffered severe injuries and died on the spot. After the attack, the accused fled from the scene.
Accused Arrested, Evidence Seized
During investigation, police traced and arrested the accused on April 21 at 2 pm.
Officials seized a mobile phone and blood stained clothes belonging to the accused. Police also recovered the knife used in the murder from the crime scene.
The deceased were identified as Aqueel Khan, 30, a driver, and Ajmeera Begum, 26, a homemaker. The couple lived in the Chaderghat and Mirchowk area.
Jealousy and Money Disputes Suspected Motive
Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused held a long standing grudge against the couple.
Police said the suspected reasons include jealousy over the couple having children while he remained childless, disputes over child adoption, and financial issues linked to hand loans.
Senior officers appreciated SHO M. Kondal Rao, DI N. Saidiah, SI Santhosh Kumar, WSI Anitha, and other staff members for cracking the case quickly.
