Hyderabad, July 31: Renowned scientist Dr Tessy Thomas, popularly known as the Missile Woman of India, will deliver the 26th Annual Memorial Oration at the Dr K V Rao Scientific Society (KVRSS) Annual Day celebrations on August 1 at the University of Hyderabad (UoH).

The programme will begin at 2.30 pm at the School of Life Sciences Auditorium, University of Hyderabad, where the Hyderabad based non profit organisation will celebrate its 26th Annual Day.
Dr K Ratna, Secretary of KVRSS, said Dr Tessy Thomas, Vice Chancellor of NICHE, Kanyakumari, and former Director General (Aeronautical Systems), DRDO, will speak on science, innovation and the future of research.
Founded in 2001 in memory of Dr K V Rao, a distinguished scientist with the Geological Survey of India, KVRSS has spent the past 26 years promoting scientific inquiry and encouraging STEM education among school students, college students and researchers below the age of 30.
A special attraction of this year’s event will be “Math Meets Movement”, an innovative dance presentation by P B Vaishnavi, Assistant Professor of Dance at GITAM Hyderabad, along with her team. The performance aims to creatively blend mathematics with movement through dance.
The annual event reflects KVRSS’s continued commitment to fostering scientific temper, multidisciplinary research and innovation among young learners and researchers.
