Mohd Faizan Elected president of the MANUU Students Union

Hyderabad, Jan 12: Mr. Mohd Faizan, student of Dept. MCJ has been elected as the 10th President of Maulana Azad National Urdu University’s Students Union (MSU) today in the elections held for the academic year 2022-23.

Students voted with enthusiasm at the Indoor Stadium, MANUU Campus, and also at off campuses of the University.

According to Prof. Mohammed Abdul Azeem, Chief Returning Officer, Mr. Mohd. Misbah Zafar, (Dept. of MCJ) was elected for the post of Vice President, Mr. Faizan Iqubal, (Dept. of CS & IT) for Secretary, Ms. Mariya Hidayat (B. Voc.) for Joint Secretary and Mr. Md. Quiasim (Dept. of CS & IT) elected for the post of Treasurer. Eight Executive Committee Members one each from the School of Languages, Linguistics & Indology; Education & Training; Sciences; Journalism & Mass Communication; Technology, and Polytechnic Hyderabad were also elected today. The remaining EC Members were elected unopposed.

The elections were peaceful and students turned up in large numbers for electing their representatives. Out of a total of 3257 voters, 80% of students cast their votes at headquarters.

Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor congratulated the newly elected office bearers.

Prof. Sk. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar also extended their warm greetings to the new team.

Prof. Salma Ahmed Farooqui and Prof. Mohd. Razaullah Khan was an election observer. Twelve faculty members were appointed as returning officers whereas 135 polling and counting officers were appointed as counting officers to count the casted votes.
