- Intelligence agencies warn of terrorist infiltration threat amid Pakistan Afghanistan conflict
- Launch pads in PoK activated as Lashkar e Taiba and Jaish e Mohammad regroup
Hyderabad: Indian intelligence agencies have warned about a possible terrorist infiltration threat as tensions rise due to the Pakistan Afghanistan conflict. Authorities have placed borders on high alert. Officials believe the conflict between the neighboring countries could spill over into India and create security risks.
According to the warning, around 1,000 to 1,500 terrorists are waiting to infiltrate into India through the border in Jammu and Kashmir. Intelligence inputs say the launch pads in Pakistan occupied Kashmir have already been activated. Meanwhile, the ISI has instructed waiting terrorists to prepare for mass infiltration attempts.
Terrorist Infiltration Threat Linked to Pakistan Afghanistan Conflict
Officials said the situation has become serious because several terror groups are trying to revive operations. Lashkar e Taiba and Jaish e Mohammad are among the groups that are attempting to reorganize and plan major strikes on India.
These groups became weaker after Operation Sindoor, during which they lost both men and infrastructure. However, they now hope that growing tensions in the region may weaken the Indian security system. Intelligence officials said these organizations may attempt to exploit the current instability.
An official explained that although Pakistan is currently engaged in a battle with Afghanistan, several elements close to the ISI remain active. Many of them are affiliated with Jaish e Mohammad. Therefore, Indian agencies are closely monitoring these individuals.
High Alert at Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab Borders
Security agencies have also warned that the threat is not limited to Jammu and Kashmir. The Punjab border is also considered highly volatile. Officials said Khalistani elements have increased their operations in the region.
Authorities believe Pakistan may try to pressure the Indian security system from several fronts. According to officials, ISI backed elements remain active along both the Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir borders. Therefore, security forces continue to monitor movements closely.
Officials also noted that Pakistan faces several internal challenges. The conflict with Afghanistan has not been easy. According to one officer, the Taliban is not showing signs of surrender anytime soon.
The Pakistan establishment has also faced pressure due to attacks by the Balochistan Liberation Army and Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan. These issues have embarrassed the establishment. Some observers believe this situation may push Pakistan to distract attention through actions against India.
Meanwhile, officials emphasized that Indian security forces remain prepared. Borders are on very high alert and agencies continue close surveillance. The Jammu and Kashmir Police are also monitoring the overground worker network. Authorities believe these networks may try to revive terror modules inside the region.
