Money Given For The Kaleshwaram Project Was Wasted: Kishan Reddy

Hyderabad, Nov 3 (Maxim News):  Telangana State BJP President G. Kishan Reddy said that seeing the condition of the Kaleswaram project will make one’s heart melt.  He criticized that all the money given for the project was wasted.

Speaking to press persons, here today, he criticized Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s government on the Kaleswaram project.  During the Congress rule this project was named as B.R. Ambedkar Pranahita-Chevella project which was undertaken with the estimated cost of Rs. 30 thousand cores.  In the year 2015, when the KCR government came, the project name was changed to Kaleshwaram and in the name of redesign, the project cost has been increased to Rs. 40 thousand crores.

KCR was self-praising seeing the Kaleswaram project, but now this project has become the temple rock for Telangana.  Now engineers say that the entire project should be demolished and reconstructed.  The KCR government is not in a position to give an answer on the collapse of the pillars.  Transparency was not followed as a matter of the project. Who benefitted from this project built with thousands of crores?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought the National Dam Safety Authority in 2021 to protect the projects.  I have complained to the Central Jalshakti Committee about the Kaleswaram pillar collapse.  Their team came and inspected and gave a report to the Center yesterday (Thursday).  In that report, the future of Kaleswaram became questionable. said Kishan Reddy.

Kishan Reddy alleged that when the Central government asked for reports on the project, the state government did not give them.  He said that only a few were given and many reports were not given.  “The state government has not given most of the reports asked by the Central team.  Dam major reports are not available with the government, this is very unfortunate.

The central team reported that the dam pillar collapsed due to a lack of planning, design, quality, and maintenance.  a report was given that the foundation of the project pillar is also not proper.  The Central team said that the use of a single stone under the pillars could jeopardize their project.  KCR ignored the fact that Kaleswaram was designed wrongly by the engineers.  Today’s predicament is due to the fact that the KCR engineer himself took up the avatar and started the construction of the project.  Medigadda is very important for water storage.  If the same is damaged, the construction of the project will be waste.

He said that the CM KCR should take moral responsibility for all this.  What will happen to the villages below if the project is damaged?  The failure of the project will leave an immense loss to the economy of Telangana.  The committee also stated the same thing.

Why does the state government hide the details asked by the committee? Those reports should be given at the specific time, if the reports are not given, we will do a full investigation when the BJP comes to power.  there is no question of leaving anyone responsible for this including CM KCR, Union Minister Kishan Reddy warned in a stern voice.
