Narsingi Chaitanya Student Suicide: Inter Board Inquiry Begins

Hyderabad, Mar 2 (Maxim News): The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE), has started an inquiry into the incident of Satvik who committed suicide at Sri Chaitanya College in Narsingi, Ranga Reddy district.

It may be recalled that the TSBIE Secretary Naveen Mittal has ordered the officials to immediately investigate the incident and submit a report. On the other hand, the Telangana State Commission for Child Rights (TSCPCR) considered Satvik’s suicide as serious. Commission Secretary Swaruparani said that the case was received by sumoto. The intermediate Board was ordered to ascertain the truth about the incident and give a report soon.

Satvik committed suicide in the classroom by writing a suicide note saying that he could not bear the harassment of the college staff. This incident, which took place on the night of February 28, created a commotion. Nagula Satvik (16) of Farooq nagar, Shad Nagar has passed the 10th examination with good marks. Joined Intermediate First Year (MPC) at Sri Chaitanya College, Narsingi. He is studying in the hostel. However, Satvik was hurt by telling his parents many times that he was not getting enough food and was being harassed and beaten by the lecturers and the warden during study hours. He said that Vice principal Acharya, lecturer Krishna Reddy and Warden Naresh are harassing him. He was angry that they were insulting him for not reading properly and beating him at will.

In this order, on February 28 Satvik hanged himself in the classroom. The fellow students who noticed this told the college staff and accused them of ignoring it. On the other hand, a video of Satvik being beaten by a lecturer has come out. On the morning of March 1, the family members went to the college in Narsingi and became worried. As the situation turned tense, the college management declared a holiday. The student unions came to know about the matter and started agitations in support of Satvik’s parents. (Maxim News)
