- BJP MP Nishikant Dubey moves notice against Rahul Gandhi
- Notice demands Lok Sabha disqualification and lifetime ban
Hyderabad: BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has given a notice seeking the cancellation of the membership of Lok Sabha MP and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. He said the notice was issued with the intention of introducing a resolution against Rahul Gandhi.
Dubey disclosed this while speaking to the media on the premises of Parliament. He clarified that this is not a privilege motion. Instead, he said he is giving a substantive motion notice. Through this step, Nishikant Dubey formally sought action against Rahul Gandhi’s membership in the Lok Sabha.
The BJP MP alleged that Rahul Gandhi is going abroad and acting against the country by joining hands with organizations like Soros Foundation, USAID, and Ford Foundation. He raised these allegations while explaining the reasons behind his notice. However, he maintained that the notice is aimed at initiating a formal resolution process.
Dubey further alleged that Rahul Gandhi, who has ties with foreign foundations, is traveling to Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand. He referred to these visits while outlining his objections. Meanwhile, he stressed that the matter concerns serious issues in his view.
In his notice, MP Dubey demanded that Rahul Gandhi be disqualified from the Lok Sabha. He also sought that Rahul Gandhi be banned from contesting elections for life. Therefore, the notice goes beyond a simple complaint and seeks strict action.
The development has added to the ongoing political confrontation between the BJP and the Congress. However, Dubey reiterated that his move is procedural and based on a substantive motion notice. The matter now rests within the parliamentary framework for further consideration.
