Now There Will Be No Drought In K’Nagar Dt—CM

Hyderabad, Dec.30 (Maxim News): Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao today said that there will be no drought in Karimnagar district now. With Kaleshwaram project we filled Manair river with 100 TMC waters.

He criticized the opposition parties for lack of knowledge and for false charges on project works.

Talking to press after his visit to the rivers and performing pujas, KCR said that Rs 1250 crore financial approval was given to build 1220 check dams, majority of them in Karimnagar district. About 140 km long Godavari will be alive with water for 365 days as Kaleshwaram project is giving positive results, he claimed.

He asked irrigation and other officials to coordinate to complete the works in Siricilla district by June next. With the completion of the project works, this area will be looking like Papikondalu, KCR said.

The BJP and the Congress leaders make vague comments on irrigation systems. They have filed cases and we will complete the same despite problems, he reiterated. He said that about Rs 440 crore will be spent for the construction of the check dams.

Karimnagar has 46 water bodies and we gave waters from Kaleshwaram project to Suryapet district. We filled all lakes in the district that were dry for past 30 years, he added. (Maxim News)
