Old Vehicles Tampering Racket Busted, 5 Arrested, Seized 17 Two Wheelers

Hyderabad, Feb 28(Maxim News): On credible information, Sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force, Central Zone Team busted the racket of cheaters who are doing motor cycle business by punching/tampering the Chassis number Engine number of the motor cycles and selling the same to the customers. Apprehended ( 5 ) accused persons and seized (17) Motor Cycles i.e., (15) Royal Enfield 350 CC, (2) Yamaha 350 CC, ( 25 ) R.C.Books of motor cycles, Tools using for punching/tampering the chassis and engine numbers from the possession of accused persons.

Hitesh Patel earlier doing sweet business and having two shops at Kavadiguda and Nagole, Hyderabad and sustained losses in sweet business. In the year 2015 he started working as a broker of motor cycles and used to purchase scrap/condemn motor cycles i.e., Royal Enfield 350 CC, Yamaha 350 CC and Bullets in various auctions all over the India and also by seeing advertisements in OLX App. The auctioned/purchased vehicles do not have the Chassis and Engine number. After removing the chassis and engine numbers of the vehicle will put in auction.

After taking the motor cycles Hitesh Patel will inform the same to the local mechanics known, unknown persons of Hyderabad and Secunderabad and prosperous buyers to purchase the vehicles Hitesh Patel used to purchase each condemn/scrap motor cycle for Rs.28,000/- and sell the same in scrap condition for Rs.35,000/- without documents. Whoever asked for R.C. and other documents he charge Rs.20,000/- to 30,000/- for each RC and to get it through R.T.A. agent by name A.Vittal Rao, who is doing R.T.A work in Hyderabad and Secunderabad since last (32) years.

The said Vittal Rao used to give huge amount to the R.T.A. officials in R.T.A. office of South Zone, Hyderabad to get RC’s, without any documents and other papers, they used to issue R.C’s to him without physical verification of the vehicle and other connected documents. The said Vittal Rao engage some locals nearby R.T.A. office and mechanics namely Hakeem Abu Naser, Mohd Arif by paying Rs.1000/- for each time and take photo and finger prints by putting fake Aadhar and other documents.

Beside the above motor cycle business, any person approach Hitesh Patel for R.C. Book, whoever lost or by any other reason, he used to approach Vittal Rao and get it done. Total (25) R.C’s were found in their possession. On further enquiry it is found that Hitesh Patel taken RCs of Royal Enfield, Yamaha Motor Cycles without existing vehicles, with the help of R.T.A. official by paying huge amounts through Vittal Rao. Hitesh Patel also taken advance RC’s of Royal Enfield/Yamaha motor cycles nearly 20/25 and sell them to prosperous buyers who purchase the vehicles in scarp/condemn condition and put the Engine No/Chassis No. accordingly through Mechanic Michal Modi and charged about 20 to 30 thousand.

On further checking his cell phone found that he stored all the RCs which he has taken from R.T.A agent Vittal Rao, the details of RCs as follows:- Total 35 R.Cs, among them (6) RC’s are in the name of Hitesh Patel, (6) RC’s are in the name of Hakeem Abu Naser, (5) RC’s are in the name of G.Rajkumar, (5) RC’s are in the name of Mohammed Saleem and (13) RC’s are in the name of different individual persons.

Michal Modi is a motor cycle mechanic having his workshop situated beside Sailing club, Tank Bund Hyderabad, he is running this work shop since ( 20 ) years. He is helping Hitesh Patel in re-modeling of the vehicles and also punching Engine and Chassis number on Royal Enfield old motor cycles. Like this he tampered one Royal Enfield vehicle altering Chassis number and Engine number, after getting the R.C. from Hitesh Patel, he sold the said R.C. to one person duly altering the Engine/Chassis number by punching for an amount of Rs.25,000/-. Later he also remodeled another Royal Enfield motor cycle and punched same chassis number, engine number and registration of the motor cycle and using for his own purpose.

The apprehended ( 5 ) accused persons along with seized vehicles handed over to the SHOs Bowenpally, Gandhinagar Police Stations for further investigation.

The above accused persons were apprehended by S.Srinivasa Rao, Inspector of Police, Central Zone Task Force, and B.Kantha Reddy, G.Thimmappa and Central Zone Task Force Team under the supervision of P Radhakishan Rao, Dy. Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force, Hyderabad.

5.Mohd Arif s/o Mohd Ahmed age 26 years Occ:Motor Cycle Mechanic r/o Warisguda, Secunderabad
