Pankaj Chaudhary Unanimously Elected As Uttar Pradesh BJP Chief

Lucknow/Hyderabad, Dec 14 (Maxim News) Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary was unanimously elected as the Uttar Pradesh BJP President. His election was officially announced by Union Minister Piyush Goyal at the party office in Lucknow on Sunday. Pankaj Chaudhary has been elected as the new president, replacing the current BJP president Bhupendra Chaudhary.

Piyush Goyal said that he is happy that Pankaj Chaudhary has been unanimously elected as the president of BJP Uttar Pradesh. Goyal announced the election of Pankaj Chaudhary in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brijesh Pathak and other leaders. Pankaj Chaudhary filed his nomination for the post of party state president on Saturday. The election was unanimous as he was the only one to file his nomination. However, his election was officially announced on Sunday.

Pankaj Chaudhary from Gorakhpur is a prominent leader of the Kurmi community. He has won as an MP seven times. In the 2022 Assembly elections and the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Kurmi voters supported the Samajwadi Party. Meanwhile, MP Vinay Katiyar, who previously served as the UP state chief from the BJP, former minister Om Prakash Singh, and Swatantra Dev Singh are also from the Kurmi community. In the context of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections being held in 2027, the BJP’s election of Kurmi leader Pankaj Chaudhary as the party chief has gained significance.(Maxim News)
