News Family Token Facility Introduced For the Convenience of Family Members applying for passport facilities

Hyderabad, March 18 (Maxim News): Regional Passport Office, Hyderabad in collaboration with South Central Railway (SCR) has conducted a passport mela exclusively for railway employees here on Saturday at Begumpet, Ameerpet and Tolichowki Passport Seva Kendras in Hyderabad.

This is the largest passport mela ever organized by regional passport office, Hyderabad, with more than 5,500 passport applications registered in a single day. The inaugural function was held at Passport Seva Kendra, Begumpet.

Dr. E. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, Regional Passport Officer, A.K. Gupta, Additional General Manager, SCR, Secunderabad and N.V. Ramana reddy, Chief Personnel Officer, SCR, Secunderabad addressed the gathering.

On this occasion, the Regional Passport Officer also announced a new “family token” facility for the convenience of family members applying for passport services. Currently, Passport applications are being processed at different time slots as per online appointment schedules leading to long waiting hours for family members. From now onwards, members of the same family, who have otherwise obtained different appointment slots on a particular day, can avail walk-in with ‘family tokens’ at all Passport Seva Kendras under the jurisdiction of the Regional Passport Office, Hyderabad for submission and processing of their passport applications at a single go.

Passport Seva project of the Ministry of External Affairs has been setting new benchmarks in public service delivery. As part of the Ministry’s drive to simplify the passport application process and extend passport services to Indian citizens in a timely, transparent and user friendly manner Regional Passport Office, Hyderabad has been conducting exclusive passport melas on weekends for the convenience of government employees and other citizens.
