Peddi Box Office Performance Remains Strong

The Telugu version continues to drive the film’s success, contributing the majority of the collections. Industry trackers reported strong occupancy levels during evening and night shows, helping the film maintain its momentum despite entering the weekday period.

Trade analysts attribute the film’s sustained performance to positive word of mouth in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, along with encouraging support from overseas audiences.

With no major competition in the Telugu market, Peddi is expected to continue attracting audiences during the coming week.

Debate Continues Over Janhvi Kapoor’s Character

Apart from its commercial performance, Peddi has also generated discussion over the portrayal of Janhvi Kapoor’s character, Achiyamma.

A section of viewers criticised certain scenes, alleging that the character was presented in a hypersexualised manner. The debate gained traction on social media, prompting discussions about the representation of women in mainstream cinema.

Director Buchi Babu Sana recently acknowledged audience feedback and announced that certain scenes would be modified following the criticism.

Meanwhile, actress Nithya Menen commented on the broader issue of objectification in cinema, stating that actors should have the freedom to establish boundaries when they feel uncomfortable with particular scenes.
