Hyderabad: Ram Charan’s latest film Peddi continues its theatrical run with strong opening weekend momentum, as the film has now reportedly crossed ₹236.7 crore in worldwide gross collections, according to makers’ updates.
The sports drama had opened to a massive response, earning over ₹51 crore on Day 1 in India and crossing ₹150 crore worldwide within the first two days. However, trade reports suggest that the film is now witnessing a gradual slowdown in its growth trajectory.
Day 3 India Collections
As per trade tracker Sacnilk, Peddi collected ₹28.85 crore net on Day 3 in India, taking its total India net collection to ₹125.25 crore.
The film’s steady performance in Telugu states continues to drive most of its earnings, while other language versions contribute moderately.
Worldwide Gross Update
The makers confirmed that the film’s worldwide gross has surpassed ₹236.7 crore, reflecting strong combined domestic and overseas performance during the opening weekend.
Despite a dip compared to the opening day, the film remains among the higher-grossing releases of the season.
Mixed Reception and Controversy
Beyond box office numbers, Peddi has also been in the spotlight due to criticism of certain scenes involving Janhvi Kapoor. Some viewers accused the film of objectifying the character, triggering online backlash.
Following the controversy, director Buchi Babu Sana issued a public apology and confirmed that the team would make changes to the disputed portions. He stated that cinema must evolve with audience sensitivity and feedback.
Performance and Industry Outlook
Peddi marks Ram Charan’s first major release after RRR. While RRR was a global blockbuster, his subsequent films such as Acharya and Game Changer underperformed despite high budgets.
Reportedly mounted on a budget of around ₹350 crore, Peddi is now expected to recover costs if it maintains momentum through the coming week.
Trade analysts believe the film’s long-term success will depend on weekday stability and its performance in the upcoming weekend.
The film also features Ravi Kishan, Shiva Rajkumar, and Jagapathi Babu in key roles.
