People should be treated with courtesy during inspections: Prakash Reddy

Hyderabad, October 30: MCC Nodal Officer, EVDM Director Prakash Reddy said that static surveillance teams should treat the public politely during the inspections to conduct the elections effectively. A training program was organized for static surveillance teams at GHMC headquarters on Monday.

On this occasion, MCC Nodal Officer Prakash Reddy said… SST teams should perform their duties in the respective constituencies from November 3. He said that he should work for 24 hours in three shifts every day. He said that these teams should register their name and location through videography while attending the duties. He said that photos and videos related to inspections should be sent. He said that the static team’s vehicles will be equipped with GPS and CC cameras. He said that people should be treated politely during inspections. Election related cash, gold and liquor should be seized and submitted to the Returning Officer through the SHO. He said that the cash seized by the Hyderabad District Grievance Cell will be released after examining the appropriate documents. He said that cash more than ten lakh should be referred to the Income Tax authorities. He said that a book will be given to the SST team vehicle, which will contain information related to receipt and appeal. He said to keep an eye on the free materials to deceive the voters. He said the details of seized cash will be recorded through the Election Seizure Management System. He said that the Election Commission will take strict action against them if they do not submit a receipt for the seized cash. He said that only six bottles per person will be allowed for liquor.

Additional CP Vikram Singh Man said that there will be a ban on gatherings and meetings 48 hours before polling. As part of MCC, if information is received that there is cash in someone’s house, that information should be reported to the IT officials, but they should not enter inside. He said that legal action will be taken against those who violated the election rules as per RP Act 1951 and Indian Penal Code. SST teams must make videography of the place and objects seized. He said that the people of this videography will be given the videography if they pay a fixed fee.

Nodal Officer Accountant Sarath Chandra said… SSTs must make seizure record as part of MCC. He said that those carrying cash exceeding 50,000 should show the relevant receipts, voice and bills to the inspection officials. He said that the District Grievance Committee will resolve the election-related complaints within 48 hours. He said that SSTs should carry out inspections at junctions more and more. He said that SSTs should be entered in the table of expenditure through Annexure B10.
