Lucknow, Sept. 18: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated that the Council decided not to bring petrol and diesel under GST. It is known that the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council meeting was held on Friday in Lucknow under the chairmanship of Nirmala Sitharaman.
It was expected that the Council will bring the petrol products under the GST purview this time but Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the Council felt it was not time to bring petrol and diesel under GST. She said that they discussed about bringing petrol and diesel under GST after Kerala High Court orders.
