PM Modi Flagged Off Three New Vande Bharat Trains

Delhi/Hyderabad, Aug 31 (Maxim News): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated three Vande Bharat Trains which will further increase connectivity along Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.

The new trains running between Meerut City-Lucknow, Madurai-Bangalore, and Chennai-Egmore-Nagercoil were inaugurated by the Prime Minister through a video conference, the Ministry of Railways said in a statement.

As part of the ‘Make in India‘ and ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat‘ initiatives, the new trains will provide faster and more comfortable travel.

Vande Bharat trains were first introduced on February 15, 2019, as part of ‘Make in India’. These trains brought for comfortable travel and fast travel are currently running more than 100 times. They travel across 280 districts across the country.

Meerut City-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express is the first Vande Bharat train connecting Meerut with Lucknow. To increase tourism, the train will be very useful for local industries due to its fast connectivity with the state capital.

Madurai-Bangalore Vande Bharat Express train connects Madurai Temple city to Bangalore CosmoPolitan hub.  This will provide more convenience for trade, education, and the movement of employees between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. 

Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil Vande Bharat Express is the first Vande Bharat service in the region.  It covers 726 km and passes through 12 districts of Tamil Nadu.  Provides better travel facilities to pilgrims and locals. 

Meanwhile, these Vande Bharat trains have advanced features like cover technology, rotating chairs, friendly toilets, and integrated Braille signages.  (Maxim News)
