Earlier in the year, PM Modi met Meloni at the G7 Summit in Canada, where both leaders committed to strengthening ties. Modi referred to Meloni as an “extraordinary political leader who combines ideas and heart” and praised her autobiography, calling it a “Mann Ki Baat,” or ideas from the heart. Through the preface to her book “I Am Giorgia,” Modi emphasized the closeness rooted in shared civilizing instincts such as defending heritage, strengthening community, and celebrating femininity as a guiding force.

Meloni reciprocated these sentiments by acknowledging the strong bond between Italy and India. She expressed deep respect for PM Modi and was honored by his words in the preface to the Indian edition of her autobiography, which she said testify to the special relationship between the two countries.
