Mumbai, July 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s reference to the iconic Bollywood film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai during his Indonesia visit has drawn widespread attention. Filmmaker Karan Johar thanked the Prime Minister, saying the moment highlighted the global appeal of Indian cinema.
Addressing an event in Jakarta, Prime Minister Modi said the title song of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai remains popular in Indonesia. He used the film’s title to underline the growing partnership between the two countries.
“The song Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is very popular in Indonesia. When India and Indonesia move forward together, our journey should not remain at just ‘Kuch Kuch’ but should reach ‘Bahut Kuch’,” the Prime Minister said, drawing applause from the audience.
Reacting to the remarks, filmmaker Karan Johar shared his appreciation on social media. He said it was a matter of pride to hear the Prime Minister mention Kuch Kuch Hota Hai during his visit to Jakarta.
Karan Johar added that the moment reaffirmed how love and cinema transcend borders. He also thanked the Prime Minister for remembering the film and its memorable title song.
