Kamareddy, July 8: An Intermediate first year student was found dead in a girls’ hostel in Banswada, Kamareddy district, on Tuesday. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
The deceased has been identified as Amrutha, a resident of Lakshmapur village in Madnur mandal. She was pursuing first year Intermediate B.Sc. and staying at the SC Girls Hostel in Banswada.
According to preliminary information, Amrutha did not attend college on Tuesday after reportedly developing a fever and remained in the hostel.
Later in the day, fellow students found her unresponsive in her hostel room and alerted the hostel staff. The authorities informed the police and her family members.
Family members reached the hostel and staged a protest, seeking answers over the incident.
Police shifted the body for post mortem examination, registered a case, and began an investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the student’s death.
