Internet, August 7: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a telephone conversation on Thursday, reaffirming the India Israel Special Strategic Partnership and reviewing bilateral cooperation across key sectors. The two leaders also exchanged views on the current situation in West Asia.
Following the call, Prime Minister Modi said the partnership between India and Israel continues to grow and reiterated the commitment to strengthen ties.
India Israel Special Strategic Partnership Reviewed
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the two leaders reviewed progress in the India Israel Special Strategic Partnership and reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation for the mutual benefit of both countries.
The leaders agreed to remain in regular contact and continue discussions on bilateral and regional issues.
In a post on X, Prime Minister Modi said he reviewed various aspects of the partnership with Netanyahu and discussed developments in West Asia.
During Prime Minister Modi’s State Visit to Israel in February, both leaders recalled Modi’s 2017 visit to Israel and Netanyahu’s 2018 visit to India, describing them as milestones that laid the foundation for deeper cooperation.
The two countries had then agreed to elevate bilateral ties to a Special Strategic Partnership for Peace, Innovation and Prosperity.
India and Israel have expanded cooperation in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, semiconductors, quantum computing, biotechnology, agriculture, water management, defence, health, entrepreneurship and space exploration.
According to the joint statement issued after the February meeting, both countries aim to combine Israel’s technological innovation with India’s manufacturing capabilities, talent base and entrepreneurial ecosystem to promote shared growth and strengthen India’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
